This book was funded by a fiscal year 2014 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the South Dakota State Historic Preservation Office (grant number P15AF00064) and a subgrant to the City of Spearfish, South Dakota (project number SD-15-021). The subgrant provided for National Register nomination research on the Spearfish Canyon hydroelectric plant. This book is a product of that research.
