This plan was funded by a fiscal year 2013 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs (grant number P13AF00019) and a subgrant to the Town of Delaware City, Delaware (project number DE-13-103). The subgrant provided for expanding the physical documentation of the canal lock with structural drawings showing the current condition of the walls, and creating interpretive signage connecting the lock in Battery Park with the new bike path along the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Delaware City, Delaware is a Certified Local Government.
