This survey was funded by a fiscal year 2015 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs (grant number P15AF00189) and a subgrant to Henry County, Iowa (project number IA-15-044). The subgrant provided for a reconnaissance level survey of historic resources in Henry County’s Jefferson Township, including the towns of Wayland and the village of Coppock. A total of 459 properties were surveyed as part of this project and historic contexts for Wayland community development and farmsteads were developed. Henry County, Iowa is a Certified Local Government.
