This survey was funded by a fiscal year 2014 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency (grant number P14AF00094) and a subgrant to McHenry County, Illinois (project number IL-14-0229). The subgrant provided for continued work on an intensive level survey of rural structures in McHenry County, under the direction of University of Illinois professional staff. The results were issued as research report No. 182 issued by the Public Service Archaeology and Architecture Program of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
