Shannock Historic Mill Village, Design Guidelines for Building in the Village

Horsley Witten Group and Donald Powers Architects. 2010. Shannock Historic Mill Village, Design Guidelines for Building in the Village. Shannock Historic District, Rhode Island

These guidelines were funded by a Historic Preservation Fund Grant to the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Museum Commission. From the introduction: "The following Design Guidelines are offered as a resource to property owners, designers, builders, developers, town officials and volunteers as they seek to guide growth and preserve the character of Shannock Village Mill Town. Preservation of that character means a continuation of the patterns of design and the materials and methods of traditional architecture." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Historic Preservation and Heritage Commission of Rhode Island, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of Interior (grant number 44-10-21946).
