City-wide Historic Resources Survey, Phase 1, Marshallville, Macon County, Georgia

The survey concentrated on the three existing historic districts listed in the National Register of Historic Places (National Register), three properties individually listed in the National Reg¡ster, and additional areas as identified by the Marshallville Historic Preservation Commission. The three existing historic districts include the East Main Street Residential District, the Marshallville Commercial District, and the West Main Street Residential District. The individually listed properties are Massee Lane Farm, Billy Place, and Willow Lake. The additional areas include: The area bounded by South Street on the west, the city limits on the south, Old Perry Road on the east and the Marshallville Commercial District/East Main Street on the north; Camellia Boulevard from West Main Street to the city limits; Miscellaneous other properties adjacent to the existing historic districts. A total of 213 properties were surveyed and documented in Georgia's Natural, Archaeological, Historic Resources GIS (GNAHRGIS). Of these 213 properties, 2LL are buildings, two are sites, specifically cemeteries. (From introduction.) This survey was funded in part by a 2015 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Historic Preservation Division, Georgia Department of Natural Resources (grant number P15AF00076) and a subgrant to the City of Marshallville, Georgia (project number GA-15-030). Funding provided for a city-wide historic resources survey of 213 properties updating, in part, a 1980 survey. Marshallville, Georgia is a Certified Local Government.
