Anderson R and Historic Augusta, Inc.. 2014. Historic Resources Survey, Summerville Historic District, Phase 2, Augusta, Georgia. Augusta-Richmond County Planning and Zoning Department. Augusta, Georgia
A total of 500 resources in a delineated Phase 2 survey area of Augusta's Summerville Historic District were documented. This is the second of a three phased survey of the neighborhood. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, the Summerville Historic District contains approximately 1,500 properties. Due to the size of the district, Augusta-Richmond County proposed a three phased survey to be completed over three years. (From introduction.) This survey was funded in part by a 2013 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Historic Preservation Division, Georgia Department of Natural Resources (grant number P13AF00064) and a subgrant to the City of Augusta/Richmond County, Georgia (project number GA-13-020). Augusta, Georgia is a Certified Local Government.
