Final Report, Reconnaissance Re-Survey of the Sioux Falls Historic District, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Common Bond Preservation. 2010. Final Report, Reconnaissance Re-Survey of the Sioux Falls Historic District, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. South Dakota State Historical Society. Sioux Falls, South Dakota
From abstract: "The area surveyed was part of the Pettigrew Heights neighborhood, a six and a half block area of both commercial and residential resources. The main purpose of the survey was to update information, determine eligibility of the properties in the survey area, and evaluate the area for listing as either on individual historic district or an addition to the Sioux Falls Historic District (SFHD). The project team determined that while an individual District is unlikely, one and a half blocks of the area surveyed should be added to the SFHD. Large portions of the survey area ore suffering from serious neglect, with many residences being subdivided in multiple rental units. 61 percent of current resources, both primary and secondary, ore considered contributing." This report was funded by a fiscal year 2009 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the South Dakota State Historical Society (grant number 46-09-21847, project number SD-09-026). The consultant executing the survey was asked to a) perform research to review all existing materials relevant to Sioux Falls Historic District's historic properties and b) update the existing info on each property within boundaries of the district to ensure accuracy and add any new information to reflect changes or alterations.
