Final Report for Isotopic Zooarchaeology of Social Transformations in the Mesa Verde Region of the US Southwest

Ferguson JR. Final Report for Isotopic Zooarchaeology of Social Transformations in the Mesa Verde Region of the US Southwest. Research Permit and Reporting System

This report summarizes the results to date for the collection of three sagebrush samples from Mesa Verde National Park. The samples included 6" sections of sagebrush branches. All three samples were collected from the same general area just south of the Far View Ruins complex. The samples will provide baseline geologic data on strontium isotope variability for the region that will be used to identify the hunting territories of pueblo occupations between 900 and 1300 A.D. near Cortez.
