ABSTRACT: The range of Brachydon trichodes (Web.) Nees, Hornsch. & Sturm is extended from New Hampshire to the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. The species grows on rocks in seepages on trails in the spruce-fir forest. Brachydon is a monotypic genus of humid north-temperate regions. Brachyodus flexisetus and Brachyodus bruchioides are species of Campylopodium and Dicranella respectively.
