Permission was permitted to collect Coprosma spp. from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in March 2016 for an academically based non-commercial population genetics study focusing on the evolution and biodiversity across the Hawaiian Islands. Population samples (leaves from 30 individuals for each species =90 total leaf samples) and voucher specimens (3 total) were collected from C. menziesii, C. ocrhacea, and C. ernodeoides.
