This study looked for evidence of magmatic gas release from a geophysically imaged reservoir of gas beneath the NW edge of Yellowstone Caldera. Groundwaters over a broad area extending away from the NW caldera boundary and covering the location of a prominent seismic swarm in 1985 were sampled and analyzed for magmatic carbon and helium. Scant evidence for magmatic gases was found.
