This color infrared imagery covers the area in and around the George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP). The photographs were taken in 2004 and published in 2006. Orthophotos combine the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. The color infrared (CIR) National Park Service area mosaic meet or exceed NMAS for 90% of well defined points will fall within one (1) meter of true position. The extent of the National Park Area mosaic is 582.261 sq km of measure inclusive of a 804 meter buffer (There are seven images making up this mosaic). The overedge is included to facilitate tonal matching in order to identify selected species identification. The image resolution is 1 foot. The scale is 1:6000.
