From executive summary: "The survey area is located in Maplewood Township, Essex County, New Jersey, which is located in the USGS Roselle quadrant. The survey area is roughly bounded by Springfield Avenue, Prospect Street, Tuscan Road and Tuscan Street, with properties along Springfield Avenue and select properties along Prospect Street, for a total area of approximately 0.1 square miles (Figure 1). A total of 268 residential properties were surveyed. No historic districts or individual properties were identified as eligible for listing on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. Copies of this Survey Report are maintained at the Municipal Building in Maplewood Township, New Jersey; the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office in Trenton, New Jersey; and at the offices of Connolly & Hickey Historical Architects, LLC in Cranford, New Jersey." Funding for this project was provided in part through a fiscal year 2013 Historic Preservation Fund grant to Maplewood Township (project number NJ-13-102) administered by the New Jersey State Historic Preservation Office (grant number P14AF00007) and the State, Tribal, and Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. Maplewood Township is a Certified Local Government.
