In 2016, more than 120 National Park Service (NPS) units conducted BioBlitzes, supported by a collaboration between National Geographic Society and the National Park Service. The majority occurred the weekend of May 20-21 to coincide with the cornerstone BioBlitz in Washington DC, and the rest took place between March and October.
