This will be a study of butterfly taxa in Lassen Volcanic National Park, inclusive of newly acquired areas of the park, prescribed burn areas, and especially waterways and meadows. I will determine the current population and conduct area canvases by roadway or by foot on established trails using both binoculars and netting and releasing. An annual count for the North American Butterfly Association will be held and reports made, in a similar manner, assisted by volunteers.
