This Protocol Implementation Plan (PIP) outlines the means by which wet deposition data are collected, managed, and reported at that site. In short, the SWAN will implement a peer-reviewed protocol published by the ARD (Porter and Morris 2007), which follows a nationally implemented protocol published by the NADP/NTN (NADP/NTN 2015). The SWAN will employ the ARD protocol in its entirety, with minor modification to the methods to account for its implementation at a particular site in King Salmon, known as AK97. This modification pertains to the means by which data are transmitted. Specifically, data collected from the AK97 raingage are no longer submitted manually on a weekly basis to the NADP. Rather, data are uploaded automatically in near real time, because the raingage was converted to telemetry in 2015, as described in Appendix A.
