Old Town Steamboat Springs Residential Survey, Phase 9

Cultural Resource Historians and McWilliams C. 2013. Old Town Steamboat Springs Residential Survey, Phase 9. Department of Planning and Community Development, City of Steamboat Springs; History Colorado. Steamboat Springs, Colorado

From introduction: "The ninth phase of the Old Town Steamboat Springs Residential Survey was undertaken by the City of Steamboat Springs as part of a continuing effort to inventory, at the intensive-level, the city's historic resources. The project's primary objective is to develop public and community awareness of the city's preservation program, and of the benefits of historic preservation, through the inventory of Old Town residential and commercial properties. More broadly, it is anticipated that these efforts will enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and the success of Steamboat Springs’ historic preservation program, in identifying and preserving historic buildings, and in protecting the historic character of the Old Town neighborhoods. Toward this end, this report presents the results of intensive-level surveys of twenty-one properties, located on Yampa Street, Lincoln Avenue, 9th Street, 11th Street, and 12th Street. The inventoried properties are not all contiguous, but rather represent a selective survey of properties within the Old Town Neighborhood. The properties were photographed and field surveyed in June 2012, and their inventory forms will be added to the inventory forms produced during the first eight phases of the Old Town Steamboat Springs Residential Survey." Project funding was provided in part by a 2012 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the City of Steamboat Springs (project number CO-12-025) administered by the Colorado State Historic Preservation Office (grant number 08-12-41912) and the State, Tribal, and Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. Steamboat Springs, Colorado is a Certified Local Government.
