From executive summary: "Past Perfect, Inc. was hired in October 2010 to conduct an intensive level historic resource survey and write a study report for a potential local historic district(s) for the City of Mackinac Island. Work included archival research, field survey on the island, coordination between island representatives and the State Historic Preservation Office, and writing/compiling of the report. Work products include an overarching survey area report, two potential local historic district survey reports (West End Historic District and Market and Main/Huron Historic District were completed and submitted separately from this report), photographs, and maps." Project funding was provided in part by a 2010 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the City of Mackinac Island (project number MI-10-037) administered by the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office (grant number 26-10-21929) and the State, Tribal, and Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
