From introduction: "The Douglass House is considered one the most outstanding examples of Queen Anne architecture in Nevada. Constructed in 1904 as a residence for a prominent Fallon businessman, Robert L. Douglass, the property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. The property located at 10 S. Carson Street was acquired by the City of Fallon in 2008. Under the city’s oversight, the facility is today used primarily to host special events and meetings. Rightfully proud of this magnificent structure, the City of Fallon is committed to maintaining the physical condition of the Douglass House to the highest standards. In mid-2015, the City of Fallon contracted with Dubé Group Architecture to provide an assessment of the Douglass House and outline treatment recommendations for future work at the property... Two levels of treatment have been recommended for the Douglass House: preservation and restoration. Preservation involves the retention of the greatest amount of historic fabric, along with the building’s historic form, features, and detailing as they have evolved over time and this treatment will guide the majority of the repairs undertaken in addition to new improvements required to support the building’s new use. Restoration involves exterior restoration of the horizontal wood siding on the first story and stone foundation by removing the stucco applied sometime in the 1940s or 1950s."
