This Phase 2 Implementation Plan for the Port Townsend Wayfinding and Heritage Marker Project includes plans for different sizes of directional signs, historic district entry signs and a master plan of sign locations. Funding was provided in part by a 2010 Preserve America grant to the Port Townsend, Washington (grant number 53-10-AP-5025) for the Port Townsend Wayfinding and Heritage Marker Project. The grant was administered by the State, Tribal, and Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. Preserve America is a federal initiative that encourages and supports community efforts to preserve and enjoy our priceless cultural and natural heritage. The goals of the program include a greater shared knowledge about the nation's past, strengthened regional identities and local pride, increased local participation in preserving the country's cultural and natural heritage assets, and support for the economic vitality of our communities.
