This document contains correspondence and notes related to architecture and condition of the the Adams Mansion at Adams National Historic Site. After a visit to the site in June, 1954, Architect Charles E. Peterson recommends changes to the floor framing to allow for inspection and ventilation. His summary report, "Notes on Physical Conditions at 'The Old House'," which documents conditions, treatment, and recommendations, was published September 14, 1954. A student measuring team was scheduled to create a set of measured drawings of the Adams House during the following year. Drawings from May 1948 and 1951 are included. Attached memos also include discussion of maintenance scheduling, requests for photographic negatives of the Mansion, plans for Charles Peterson's travel to the site in August 1954, fumigation, and archeological findings. The report also contains photographs of the Mansion's foundation (August 1954).
