From introduction: "This report describes the process of identification, documentation and evaluation of the surveyed historic resources and identifies those most likely to be eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, as well as for state and local designations in the Pollard Farm Survey Area. Tyler, founded in 1846 and incorporated in 1850, is the seat of Smith County and is in northeast Texas between Dallas and Marshall (Figure 1). Located in the north central section of Smith County (Figure 2), Tyler (Figure 3) is bisected by U.S. Highway 69 (Broadway), which runs north-south through the city, and by Texas Highway 31 (Front Street), which runs east-west. Interstate 20 is about nine miles north of Tyler." Funding was provided in part by a 2015 Historic Preservation Fund grant to the City of Tyler (project number TX-15-022) administered by the Texas State Historic Preservation Office (grant number P15AF00187) and the State, Tribal, and Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. Tyler, Texas is a Certified Local Government.
