1988. Biltmore Village Historic District Design Guidelines, Historic Resources Commission, Asheville, North Carolina, October 1, 1988. Asheville Historic Resources Commission; North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources

These guidelines are presented in three books: Book 1, General Design Guidelines and Policies; Book 2, Design Guidelines for Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings in Biltmore Village; and Book 3: Design Guidelines for New Construction and Additions. Preface: "This booklet contains general information about design review in the Biltmore Village Historic District, and should be used as a guide in all construction projects that involve work that will be visible to the public. It contains design ideas that apply to both rehabilitation and new construction. In addition to this booklet, there are two other publications that should be consulted: Book 2 provides more specific guidelines for rehabilitation only. The other booklet, Book 3, provides more detailed guidelines for new construction projects." Funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the City of Asheville administered by the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office and the State, Tribal, and Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
