This report presents the results of a qualitative study of residents of Fort Monroe, VA, and visitors to the Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe National Monument. From December 4-7, 2013, focus groups were conducted with both residents and visitors. Our objectives were to learn about opinions regarding the types of visitor services and facilities that Fort Monroe National Monument, one of the newest additions to the National Park System, should include in its future plans, as well as the types of issues the park should consider as it prepares for increased visitation.
