The purpose of this report is to provide a plan for social science research for Gateway National Recreation Area (referred to hereafter as Gateway). The plan provides a roadmap for Gateway to address its highest priority social science information needs, and includes a series of phased projects that together comprise a program of social science research for Gateway for the next seven to ten years. The scope and breadth of the projects included in the social science plan were designed to provide a level of information and understanding that is commensurate with that of existing programs of research and knowledge about the park’s natural and cultural resources.
