This study aims to create a more comprehensive structural history of the Adams House and identify where certain rooms could have been. It uses various references, including family papers and accounts, to provide a more complete description of the house as it looked throughout each of the four generations of the family. The report notes that this history, while not complete, will be helpful to interpretation staff at the Adams National Historic Site. It is organized chronologically, beginning with the history of the site as part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and continuing to the efforts to preserve the house in the 1960s.
