We set up a predator exclusion study to assess the effect of predation by Laricobius nigrinus on HWA sistens. We found that the resulting density of progrediens ends up being essentially the same on branches where Laricobius had access and where it was denied access, showing that density dependent mortality compensates for any predation by Laricobius, suggesting that Laricobius alone may not be enough to control HWA.
