Important temperature data is collected at on the Green River and the Yampa River above Echo Park for the Record of Decision in operation of Flaming Gorge. The flow and temperature recommendations described in Muth et al.2000 restrict temperature differences between the Green and Yampa rivers to be less than 5 °C and include the additional objective of meeting or exceeding water temperatures of 18.0 C as measured at the Gates of Lodore temperature gage.
