ABSTRACT: The diatom flora of two streams in Great Smoky Mountains National Park were investigated. Seasonal collections were taken in 1981 from Beech Flats Prong and Abrams Creek, with a maximum number of microhabitats investigated. Seven-hundred fifty diatom valves were counted from each of the one-hundred three collections, yielding a total of thirty-three genera and two-hundred forty-seven species, varieties and forms....
