Gibbons LD. 2017. Catoctin Mountain Park FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Fire effects monitoring data collected at Catoctin Mountain Park in Maryland. The data were collected during summer field seasons from 2012 to 2017 by the fire effects monitoring crew based in Shenandoah National Park. Data include Fire Monitoring Handbook (FMH) plots for grasslands (2013) and forest (2012-2017). Data collected from circular grassland plots include estimated cover of most abundant taxa. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, species richness, and point intercept data. Photographs were taken at each plot to document change.
