ABSTRACT: The present paper is concerned with a series of minute spiders forming part of the great superfamily Argiopoidea. Some have been given family status as the Symphytognathidae, whereas others have most often been kept within the family Theridiidae as the subfamily Mysmeninae. The group lies in a twilight zone between families and presents such diluted morphological characters that placement and relationship become uncertain. There are few features that discretely separate them from the Argiopidae, on the one hand, or the Theridiidae, on the other.
