Revision of Alebra Fieber in the New World (Rhynchota: Homoptera: Cicadellidae)

ABSTRACT: Eleven species of New World Alebra are recognized: A. aurea Walsh, A. bella n. sp., A. bicincta DeLong, A. castaneae n. sp., A. eburnea DeLong, A. elegans n. sp., A. floridaen. sp., A.fumida Gillette, A. rubrafrons DeLong, A. thoracica n. sp. and A. wahlbergi Boheman. The last of these is postulated to be an introduced species. Host associations are established for most of the species; only 2 species are believed to be polyphagous.
