Biogenic Isoprene Monitoring

Sullivan DW. Biogenic Isoprene Monitoring. Research Permit and Reporting System

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and other organizations have found that biogenic emission computer models over-predict isoprene (C5H8) concentrations compared with measurements from urban surface Automated Gas Chromatograph (auto-GC) monitors. TCEQ's existing network of auto-GCs are in urban areas or locations without significant isoprene emitters (oak forests). This project adds information from taking measurements in a heavily wooded area.
