The permit is for a long-term research project that has two objectives. One, continuing a monitoring program that provides a time-series of population size, age and sex ratio estimates of Roosevelt elk populations in the park and, two, examining elk – habitat interactions and how these interactions are coupled to ecological processes. Field work was conducted between January 2 - 21, 2018 in the Prairie Creek drainage, lower Redwood Creek drainage, and Bald Hills of Redwood National Park.
