Brandy Creek, one of four tributaries to Whiskeytown Lake, is located in Shasta County approximately 20 miles west of Redding, California. The lake is part of the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (Department) Northern Region Fisheries staff plans are to collect Kokanee salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) eggs during annual spawning runs. The eggs gathered will be used in the statewide Inland salmon program.
