The NPS held a GRI scoping meeting for Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument which included a discussion on 14 July 2015, held at Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Boulder City, Nevada followed by a site visit on 15 July 2015. The purpose of GRI scoping meetings is to 1) evaluate the adequacy of existing geologic maps for resource management, 2) discuss distinctive geologic features and processes, and park-specific geologic management issues, and 3) identify geologic monitoring and research needs.
