This completion report provides documentation for the stabilization of Michigan Island Lightstation at Apostle Islands National Seashore (HS-23-103A, HS-23-103B, HS-23-103C, HS-23-103D, HS-23-103F, HS-23-103G), for the day labor work order. Stabilization work was started in July 1975 and completed in November 1975 under project supervisors Ray Kunkel and John Ochman. This report provides the cost of the stabilization work, a narrative description of the work, and copies of photographs. Stabilization work was conducted on the structures of the lightstation except for the light tower. Work at this time ranged from general site work, tuckpointing, whitewashing the old lighthouse and tower, scraping and painting, repairing the slate roofs, installation of lexan panes in the light tower, general carpentry, raising the storage shed and temporarily bracing the structure, controlling drainage, and constructing a temporary dock.
