Fungi Collection Field Notebook
Cibula B. 1969. Fungi Collection Field Notebook
Bill Cibula documented his collection of fungi in Big Thicket National Park using a field notebook, index cards, and slides. The information he gathered ranged in dates from 1969 – 1985. In January and February of 2009 this information was organized into an easily accessible format by Denise Broussard, an intern for the Gulf Coast Network Inventory and Monitoring Program of the National Park Services in Lafayette, La. All text and slides were scanned in as pdf files. The field notebook was scanned and those slides that corresponded with it were attached to the end of that file and labeled with the appropriate entry number. The folder with this information is titled “field notebook”. All index cards with voucher information were scanned and the slides that correspond with the index cards were inserted into that file immediately following the appropriate index card. This folder is titled “Cibula index cards”. The slides that had no written reference but were numbered were put into a separate folder and labeled with the available information that was provided on the slides themselves. This folder is titled “# slides with no ref”. The slides without numbers or written references were put into a folder titled “slides no-info”. Included in the Cibula collection was a set of slides that were briefing documents. I could not determine the relevance of the slides to this project. They are in a folder titled “mushroom documents”.
