The purpose of this project was to harvest plants that were going to be destroyed by the construction of a new road at Fort Pickens' Park and install them along the edge of another road (between Navarre and Pensacola Beach) to help prevent water and wind erosion. Several areas had been selected based on historical data that had illustrated the need for stabilization. A Total of 3,120 Panic grasses (Panicum amarum) were harvested and replanted in 12 locations.
