This report follows a meeting held on March 10, 1971 at the Custis-Lee Mansion, in which problems affecting the structure's stability were addressed. These had to do with water stains that occurred at several locations at the exterior walls, and a concern over the loading capacity of the second floor structural system. It documents the considerations that were given to the appearance of the mansion during the Civil War, changes that were made during a period of restoration, and stabilization actions.
