The Archean gneisses of the northern Teton Range consists of two major tectonic domains. To the west lies the Moose Basin domain, which consists of pelitic gneiss that is interfolded with mafic gneiss. Both of these were metamorphosed at 2.7 Ga at temperatures of ~950° and pressures >12 kilobars. These were tectonically emplaced against the Layered Gneiss at around 2.685 Ga. Between 2.685 and 2.73 Ga these domains were intruded by a suite of leucogranites.
