Ruins Preservation Guide, Aztec Ruins National Monument

Adams SE. 1979. Ruins Preservation Guide, Aztec Ruins National Monument. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This guide was intended to help personnel at Aztec Ruins National Monument become more knowledgeable about specific details of the ruins. The national monument was established to that preservation of the ruins would be ensured. This guide was to be used as a "map" to direct the the reader to a more intimate understanding of the cultural resources, rather than as a substitute for first-hand knowledge. Additionally, the guide was created to serve as a repository for information pertinent to preservation or management of the ruins. This includes building materials sources, special preservation techniques, and individual expertise that could be useful to successive managers and maintenance personnel at the time of its writing. It was intended to be continually added to, updated, and referenced. Portions of other documents are included as background material.
