This Historic Structures Report (HSR), Part I contains administrative, historic, architectural, archeological, and landscape data about the Old Castolon structures. The Old Store, Old Cafe, and one-room shed were planned to be retained as in-place exhibits on the historic tour of the site. The Old Castolon Store was identified in the Historic Resource Management Plan as a primary site. It is the oldest structure in the park and is a prime exhibit of several historic themes, particularly as a center of supply and community activity. The site and structures exhibit a way of life at a Mexican-American border community. This HSR was prepared with a project construction proposal for rehabilitation work that was required to preserve the structure for future interpretation. A description of proposed construction activities is provided, along with cost estimates and measured drawings. Attached photographs show condition and repairs to the structures.
