Certified shorelines monitoring dataset. The National Park Service Arctic Network Inventory and Monitoring Program (ARCN) monitors coastline change along the coast of Bering Land Bridge National Park (BELA) and Cape Krusensturn National Monument (CAKR) in northwestern Alaska. Approximately every 10 years ARCN acquires high resolution orthorectified coastal imagery and precisely digitizes the coastline. In 2014 the erosion scarp was also digitized. The coastlines are subsequently analyzed using Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS, [Thieler et al., 2005]) to calculate rates of shoreline accretion and erosion. Our methods have been standardized in Manley and Lestak, 2012. To date ARCN has analyzed coastal change for four time periods including approximately 1950, 1980,2003 (Manley and Lestak) and 2014 (Farquharson).
