This report documents the restoration of the Mabry Mill building group that was begun during April of 1942, under approved CCC Project No. 720 by forces from Camp VA-NP-29. The purpose was the immediate preservation of the original structures to provide an exhibit for the traveling public and to retain a worthy example of mountain industry. The report documents the history, use, and historic significance of Mabry Mill. It represents the evolution of labor-saving devices and the forms of industry essential to the needs of the farming population in the region. Specific sections address restoration work done on the water wheel, flume construction, mill building, grist mill, saw mill, wood shop, blacksmith & wheelwright shop, and roof boards. Report includes captions and spaces for images in each section, but images are missing.
