The recent application of immunological agents for wildlife contraception holds promise for yet another tool for managing overabundant deer populations. Yet, little is known about the effects of these kinds of contraceptives on free-ranging herds. Here we report on a small free-ranging deer population that has been treated with porcine zona pellucida (PZP) for the last five years.
