The following standard operating procedure (SOP) outlines steps and procedures to be followed prior to collecting wadeable stream habitat data in Southeast Coast Network (SECN) parks. Information outlined in this SOP is based closely on the USGS National Water Quality Assessment (NAWQA) wadeable stream assessment protocol (Fitzpatrick et al. 1998). Procedures have been customized for use in streams draining the Piedmont and Coastal Plain park areas in the Southeast Coast Network.
