This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) gives step-by-step instructions for managing the data collected in the Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Monitoring Program at Shenandoah National Park. This SOP describes the procedure for field checking data, data entry (in conjunction with SOP 17), data verification and correction (in conjunction with SOP 17), and database organization and documentation. Accurate collection and stewardship of data are critical to the success of the program. Ensuring data quality must be a priority during crew training, and throughout the data collection, entry, verification, and validation process.
