Standard Operating Procedure 2.2.13 Wadeable Stream Data Entry and Storage—Version 1.0

McDonald JM, Starkey EN, Capece PI, Gregory MB. 2018. Standard Operating Procedure 2.2.13 Wadeable Stream Data Entry and Storage—Version 1.0. Southeast Coast Network

This standard operating procedure (SOP) provides instructions for properly digitizing and storing wadeable stream habitat monitoring data. The procedures outlined in this document will ensure that data entry and storage are consistent so that the data can be readily processed and analyzed for use in the status, change, trend, and synthesis reports. Initially all tabular data recorded on paper field sheets will be entered into Microsoft Excel workbooks and stored on the Southeast Coast Network’s local file server. All of the spatial data collected using the Trimble S6 robotic total station and the TSC3 data collector will be stored on the SECN GIS file server. This SOP will be updated once data entry and reporting needs are finalized following initial data collection, and a formal database is developed to support the finalized needs. It is assumed that the user is familiar with Microsoft Excel and ArcMap 10.x.
